Swine flu

I love pork.
But the origin of pork, which are pigs, gives us swine flu.
Starting tomorrow (at least I think is tomorrow), NP is gonna monitor our temperature. Twice a day. -___________-
I dunno where my thermometer is.
And I need to buy one.

A VERY INTERESTING CONVERSATION

Darling emailed me this. I think it's quite good!
There are a lot of things that are in the grey area, you cannot prove that it's one thing or another. This conversation shows it.

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has
with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD Good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill.
But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who Created them ?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes,Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . . But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor, are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in Uproar )

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's Brain?

(The Class broke out into Laughter )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt it? . .. . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that You have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir?

(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly ! The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

That student was Albert Einstein.

Not sure if it really is Albert Einstein. I'm not exactly a believer of GOD, but I think that the conversation above makes a lot of sense.
Many times, we make decisions based on feelings and sometimes, these feelings are not rationale.
Like how I volunteered myself to be co-chairman when I do not have a single clue on what to do.
I kinda have the feeling the the Chairperson feels that I'm useless. lol

Anyway. Gonna go get my SLR tomorrow. So excited!
But I wanted a DSLR. Who uses film nowadays? lol.
But a DSLR costs like 10 times that of an SLR.
Crazy.

School.

Year 3 has been good so far.
Surprised that I say Year 3 is good?
Surprised that I said that school's good?
I'm pretty surprised too!

But if you think about it, out of the 5 compulsory MCM modules I'm taking, 3 of them are stuff that I like and chose.
So if I say that school sucks, won't I be contradicting myself?

But really, school's been really fun (except of Media Law.)
I like my Presentation Skills in Chinese teacher.
He's really nice! Reminds me of my Primary and Secondary school Chinese teachers.
They were funny and nice!
Mr Quek is his name.
He makes lesson really fun! And of course I believe he understands that most of us, being MCM students, have left this language on the shelf for around 2 years and so are a little rusty.
I think that I have never been good in Chinese though XD.

Anyway, I shall continue to try harder for PRESCHI.
Another module that looks fun is Mass Media in Singapore and Asia (MASINA).
Surprisingly again, since it's almost an expansion of MRM and research, literature review are key things that we have to do.
But I like the lecturer. He's funny! Though his very 1st impression isn't that good.
LOL. He reminds me of the BBDC tester who failed me.
I'm not saying that's bad but they are both on the bigger side, and are both malay.
I'm not discriminating but they are quite similar. XD
Shall see on Thursday what MASINA is really about. Hopefully it's something that I can look forward to for the rest of the weeks.

The only module that is draggy so far is Media Law (MEDLAW).
What do you expect? It's LAW!
And it's boring.
The lecturer, you guessed it! He's boring.
But with a subject like that, I don't know how interesting he can get.
It doesn't help with the aircon being so bloody cold. And I'm sitting at the front row, because he has this rule where nobody is allowed to sit in the last 3 rows.
And I heng heng sit there. -_______-

Yesterday was the 1st day of school.
I only had a 2-hour lesson, at night.
Darling came to fetch me!
(P.S. I wasn't in the best of moods cuz I failed my driving test. Didn't expect that result. And I didn't want that result. I felt that I let a lot of people down. But I had a lot of encouragement! Thanks everyone. I'll try harder next time. Sorry Mummy, have to spend your money............)
I was soo happy when he said he'll fetch me! Cuz I end at 9pm!!!
And when I think of the trip home alone, I get even more depressed..
When he came, he even bought Yam Yam sticks for me!
Haven't had that in a looooooooong time. Very nice! Thanks dardar~~

Today.
I have a 6-hour break in between lessons. To those who once had 3-4 hours break.
Don't complain. I have 6 hours.
Wanted to accompany Shishi to watch her Sec school guzheng SYF comeptition.
But she got the location wrong. -__________-
So in the end, we spent our time walking in Great World City, eating.
And we just nice chance upon Ben & Jerry's FREE CONE DAY!
Weeeee! Got free ice cream!! LOL..
Even after eating, and going back to my house, we still have 3 hours before class start.
So we slacked and my mum cooked fried rice for dinner.

Heng heng, gas ran out. -_______-'''
Oh well......
In the end we were late for class. HAHAHA.
Had to rush to take notes. Luckily not so late, still can catch up.

Then Daddy came to fetch me home!
I feel so Xing Fu!! I have a wonderful boyfriend and a wonderful daddy!
I'm not saying this just cuz they came to fetch me. I said it cuz I mean it.
I wonder when was the last time I had someone fetch to and from school.
When was the last time I talked about my school with my family member on the way home.
When was the last time that I wanted to share my school life with people.
I'm really glad that I have them to look after me.
Sometimes I think some people don't appreciate what they have until they lost it.
I used to be like that. Now I'm different. =)

P.P.S. I need to brush up on my chinese.
